ASTM 304L Stainless Steel Pipe
ASTM 304L stainless steel pipe is an austenitic alloy containing a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The addition of "L" in the grade name indicates that it has a lower carbon content compared to standard 304 stainless steel, typically 0.03% maximum. This lower carbon content helps minimize carbide precipitation during welding, reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion.
The alloy's austenitic structure gives it high ductility, making it easy to form and weld. Furthermore, ASTM 304L stainless steel pipe exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation, corrosion in most environments, and good resistance to many chemicals.
