Chemical Composition: The balance of chromium and nickel, along with other elements like carbon, manganese, silicon, and molybdenum, is critical for achieving the desired corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

Heat Treatment: All SS304 pipes should be heat-treated to a minimum temperature of 1900°F (1040°C) and then quenched in water or rapidly cooled to achieve the proper microstructure and hardness levels.

Tensile and Yield Strength: The material must meet minimum tensile strength and yield strength requirements, typically around 75,000 PSI and 30,000 PSI for SS304, respectively.

Hydrostatic or Nondestructive Electric Testing: Each pipe must undergo either a hydrostatic test or a nondestructive electric test to ensure there are no leaks or defects.

Surface Finish: The surface must be free of scale and may require pickling or bright annealing to achieve a smooth finish.

Wall Thickness and Outside Diameter Tolerances: The pipes must be manufactured within specified tolerances for wall thickness and outside diameter to ensure consistency and fit.
