ASTM A312 TP309S Stainless Steel Welded Pipes

The 309S stainless steel pipe is an austenitic stainless steel pipe similar to the 304 stainless steel pipe. The 309S pipe has a relatively high content of nickel and chromium, which enhances its oxidation resistance and creep strength at high temperatures. Additionally, 309S is a low-carbon variant of 309 stainless steel, designed for applications that require welding. The lower carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone near the weld, which can prevent intergranular corrosion (weld decay) in certain environments. It is widely used in high-temperature fields such as boilers, energy (nuclear power, thermal power, fuel cells), industrial furnaces, incinerators, heating furnaces, chemicals, and petrochemicals.
