It is commonly utilized in applications such as furnace parts, heat exchangers, and equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industries where it is exposed to high temperatures and aggressive environments.ASTM 1.4841 stainless steel, also known as AISI 314, is an austenitic heat-resistant stainless steel with key properties that make it suitable for high-temperature applications. It has excellent resistance to scaling up to 1150°C and good resistance to oxidation and corrosion . The steel's chemical composition includes chromium (24.0-26.0%), nickel (19.0-22.0%), and silicon (1.50-2.50%), which contribute to these properties . It also has a good creep rupture strength, making it ideal for use in furnace parts and other high-temperature equipment . The mechanical properties of 1.4841 include a 0.2% yield strength of ≥230 N/mm² and a tensile strength of 550-750 N/mm² . The thermal conductivity is 15 W/m K, and the electrical resistivity is 0.9 Ω mm²/m at 20°C.
