A269 Bright Annealed Stainless Steel Tubing Description

 

A269 bright tube is a welded austenitic stainless steel tube commonly used in general equipment. The A269 bright annealed tube undergoes cold rolling and precision drawing, achieving dimensional accuracy of around 0.05mm. The inner surface has a roughness of approximately Ra0.4 micrometers and undergoes heat treatment, bright solution annealing (annealing) under a reducing atmosphere protection.

Factors Influencing The Brightness Of The Annealing Of Stainless Steel Tubes

1. Whether the annealing temperature reaches the specified level is a factor affecting the brightness of the stainless steel annealing. Stainless steel heat treatment generally involves solution annealing, with a temperature range of 1040 to 1120°C (according to Japanese standards). Observation through an observation hole in the annealing furnace should reveal the stainless steel tube in a state of incandescence, without showing signs of softening or sagging.

2. The annealing atmosphere is another important factor. Typically, pure hydrogen is used as the annealing atmosphere, with a purity level of preferably over 99.99%. If another portion of the atmosphere consists of inert gases, the purity level can be slightly lower, but it must not contain excessive oxygen or moisture.

3. The sealing of the furnace body is critical for achieving a bright annealing effect. Bright annealing furnaces should be completely sealed off from the external air, with only one exhaust port open for the discharge of hydrogen gas. A method of checking for leaks involves applying soapy water to the various joints of the annealing furnace to see if there is any air leakage. The areas most prone to leaks are where the inlet and outlet pipes of the annealing furnace are located; the sealing rings in these areas are particularly susceptible to wear and should be inspected and replaced regularly.

4. Pressure of the protective gas: To prevent micro-leaks, there should be a certain positive pressure of the protective gas inside the furnace. If hydrogen is used as the protective gas, a pressure of at least 20 kBar is generally required.

5. Moisture inside the furnace: Firstly, it is essential to check if the furnace body material is dry. When initially installing the furnace, the furnace body material must be dried thoroughly. Secondly, check whether there is excessive water residue on the stainless steel tubes placed into the furnace. Particularly, if there are holes in the pipes, ensure no water leaks into them; otherwise, it will disrupt the atmosphere inside the furnace.
