Dimensions and Tolerances: Close control of outside diameter, wall thickness, and length variations is necessary to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with ASTM standards.

Surface Condition: Tubes should be free of excessive mill scale and suitable for inspection, with any special finish requirements agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser.

Flaring and Flange Tests: For seamless and welded tubes, respectively, these tests verify the tube's ability to be flared or flanged without failure, ensuring ductility and quality of welds.

Hydrostatic or Nondestructive Electric Tests: These tests are conducted to ensure the pipe's ability to withstand pressure and to check for any hidden flaws.
