347 Stainless Steel Round Tube
ASTM A312 TP347 is a specification for seamless and welded stainless steel pipes that are made from the grade TP347 stainless steel.
ASTM A312 Gr TP347 is a specially designed austenitic stainless steel with added chromium and nickel to enhance its corrosion resistance. It possesses excellent toughness due to its relatively high carbon content.
However, this also results in it being slightly less strong than the low-carb version. To solve this problem, an element called columbium was added to the A312 TP347 material. The addition of this alloying element makes it resistant to most oxidizing agents. At the same time, despite the higher carbon content, the A312 TP347 material still has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. This makes it promising in applications operating at high temperatures and with a high risk of oxidation.
It should be noted that SS 347 seamless pipe material is prepared by cold drawing process and therefore cannot be hardened by heat treatment. However, it can be hardened by cold working and is easily welded.
