Square tube is a lightweight thin-walled hollow steel pipe with a square cross-section, also known as cold-formed steel section. It is manufactured by cold-forming hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel strips or coils (made from materials such as S235, S355, S235JRH, S355J2H, or S355NH) into a square shape and then welded using high-frequency welding.
For hot-rolled extra-thick-walled square tubes, except for increased wall thickness, their corner dimensions and edge straightness meet or even surpass those of resistance-welded cold-formed square tubes. These tubes exhibit excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, good weldability, and favorable cold and hot workability, along with strong corrosion resistance and low-temperature toughness.
