Manufacturing Process of Straight Seam Welded Tubes

The production of straight seam welded tubes from Q235 carbon steel involves a series of precision steps that result in a seamless-looking, yet cost-effective product. The process typically begins with the uncoiling of steel coils, followed by flattening and edge preparation to ensure a smooth, uniform surface for welding. The flat strip is then bent into a tubular shape using a forming mill, where the edges are brought into close proximity.

Next, a welding process, typically high-frequency induction welding (HFIW), is employed to fuse the edges together, creating a continuous, straight seam. HFIW utilizes electromagnetic induction to generate localized heat, rapidly melting and joining the steel edges in a single pass. This method ensures a strong, uniform weld with minimal distortion to the tube's shape.

Post-welding, the tubes undergo various treatments such as cooling, sizing, and inspection to ensure compliance with quality standards. Finally, the tubes are cut to the desired length and may undergo further processing, such as surface treatment or coating, to enhance their corrosion resistance or aesthetic appeal.
