Manufacturing process
There are various raw materials used for pipe manufacturing such as ingots, billets, plates, and coils that make use of basic oxygen, open-hearth or electric furnace in combination with ladle refining process. For PSL 1 steel is killed and melted as per fine grain practice. On the other hand, coils or plates are used for manufacturing PSL 2 level of pipes.
API 5L Grade B Pipe comes across various tests such as hydrostatic test, bend test and flattening test. All these tests are done under the supervision of inspection agencies. Moreover, these pipes are packed in proper wooden cases to prevent it from rust and damages.
