A672 A45 EFW Pipes Description
A672 A45 electrofusion welded pipe is an electrofusion welded steel pipe produced according to ASTM A672, which is a special pipe for medium temperature and high pressure applications, where 'A45' stands for the material grade and strength requirement 38. A45' stands for material grade and strength requirements. The standard applies to piping systems for the transport of non-corrosive media such as water, steam, gas, etc., especially suitable for medium and high pressure working conditions in electric power, chemical industry and other industrial fields.
Adopting electrofusion welding (EFW) technology, the steel plate is rolled and welded into pipe through submerged arc welding or resistance welding, and the strength of weld seam is close to that of the parent material.
Roll forming, weld inspection (e.g. X-ray flaw detection) and pressure testing are required to ensure the sealing and mechanical properties.
A672 A45 welded pipe surface can be sandblasted, galvanised and other treatments to improve corrosion resistance.
