A283 round pipe Description
A283 structural welded pipe is a low to medium carbon steel welded pipe conforming to ASTM A283, which is mainly used in construction, plumbing and industry.
Standard specification
ASTM A283 standard is implemented, belonging to low to medium carbon steel (such as Gr.C, Gr.D grade), with moderate strength and good weldability.
C properties: yield strength ≥ 205 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 380 MPa, suitable for general structural scenarios.
Gr.D properties: slightly higher strength than Gr.C, for structures with higher load requirements.
Manufacturing process
Welding technology
Double-sided submerged arc welding (SAW) or straight-seam resistance welding (ERW) is used to ensure the denseness and compressive strength of the weld.
Forming methods
Supporting straight seam welding (such as ERW straight seam welded pipe) or spiral welding forming, the pipe can be produced in diameters of DN20~1520mm, suitable for different application scenarios.
APPLICATIONS
Building Structures
Used for structural steel frames, supports and bridges to meet medium load requirements.
Plumbing
Suitable for small diameter pipes such as DN20, suitable for water supply and HVAC systems.
Industrial equipment
