A252 GR3 Welded Line Pipe Description

A252 GR3 welded pipe piles are high-strength steel pipe piles manufactured in accordance with ASTM A252/A252M standard, which belongs to the highest grade (Gr.3) under the standard, and are designed for extreme loads and complex geological conditions. It is designed for extreme loads and complex geological conditions, and is suitable for foundation projects that require severe load-bearing capacity, such as bridges, deep-sea platforms, and ultra-high-rise buildings.

Comparison of grades: Among the three grades of ASTM A252, the strength of Gr.3 is the highest, with tensile strength ≥483 MPa and yield strength ≥345 MPa, which is much higher than that of Gr.1 (tensile strength ≥345 MPa) and Gr.2 (tensile strength ≥415 MPa).
Chemical composition:
Low carbon steel material, carbon content ≤ 0.05%, containing manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements, strict control of carbon equivalent in order to optimise welding performance;
Need to verify the toughness of the material through the cold bending test and impact test.
Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength ≥ 483 MPa, yield strength ≥ 345 MPa (subject to the supplier's material certificate);
Elongation ≥ 18% (wall thickness ≥ 7.9mm), suitable for high stress environment.
Manufacturing process:
Spiral submerged arc welding (SSAW) or straight seam double-sided submerged arc welding (LSAW) process is adopted to ensure the strength and uniformity of the weld;
Supports large diameter production up to 1422.2mm OD and wall thickness range from 2.8mm to 50.8mm.
Typical connections: flat, threaded or socketed ends to suit different project requirements.
