Differences Between PSL1 and PSL2:

1. The delivery condition of PSL1 spiral steel pipes is chosen by the manufacturer, while for PSL2 pipes, the delivery condition must meet the steel designation specified in the purchase contract.

2. The steel used for PSL2 pipes should be fine grain killed steel, whereas PSL1 does not have this requirement.

3. For manufacturing PSL2 pipes, the steel strip or plate should not have any repair welds, and no repair welding is allowed on the pipe body; this requirement does not apply to PSL1 pipes.

4. The chemical composition of PSL1 and PSL2 pipes of the same strength grade is different.

5. The maximum steel grade for PSL1 pipes is L485/X70, while for PSL2 pipes, it is L830M/X120M.

6. For PSL1 pipes, only the minimum values of yield strength and tensile strength are specified, with no maximum values or specified yield-to-tensile ratio. In contrast, PSL2 pipes specify both the minimum and maximum values of yield strength and tensile strength, as well as the maximum value of the yield-to-tensile ratio.
