A691 Electrofusion Pipe Description

A691 electric fusion welded pipe is a high temperature and high pressure special pipe standard (ASTM A691/A691M) developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Its core features include:

Material type: carbon steel or chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (chromium content 1%-9%, molybdenum content 0.45%-1.5%, supplemented by strengthening elements such as vanadium and niobium).

Manufacturing process: formed by electric fusion welding (EFW) process (such as submerged arc welding SAW or high frequency welding HFW), and the weld needs to be fully penetrated on both sides to ensure structural integrity.

Size range: nominal outer diameter ≥16 inches (405mm), wall thickness ≤3 inches (75mm), support customized oversized size (diameter up to 3000mm).

Grade identification: named with "A691+chromium content+grade" (such as A691 9Cr CL22), and the grade (CL) represents the heat treatment and testing requirements.
