A672 D80 EFW Pipes Description
A672 D80 Electrofusion Welded Pipe is a medium, high temperature, high pressure electrofusion welded steel pipe manufactured in accordance with ASTM A672/A672M standards, designed for use in severe industrial fluid transfer systems for high pressure scenarios in the petroleum, natural gas, chemical and other fields.
2. Material and manufacturing process
Material type: low alloy carbon steel, high carbon content, sulphur and phosphorus impurity content ≤0.035%, to ensure welding performance and corrosion resistance.
Welding process: adopt electrofusion welding (EFW) or straight seam submerged arc welding (SAWL) forming, the weld seam needs to be ensured by ultrasonic flaw detection and radiography to ensure the compactness. Post-treatment: After welding, the weld should be positively treated.
Post-treatment: Normalising and other heat treatments are required after welding to eliminate residual stresses and improve creep resistance.
